- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- Add sweet Hungarian paprika, hot paprika, kosher salt, chopped onion, smashed garlic, chopped bell pepper, beef broth, crushed tomato, caraway seed, brown sugar (if using), and bay leaf.
- Stir to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Before serving, remove the bay leaf.
- Stir in the flour to thicken the sauce.
- Serve with a dollop of sour cream on top.
