  • 4 cups Low Sodium Beef Broth the foundation of your stew
  • 1 can Crushed Tomato provides acidity
  • 1 teaspoon Caraway Seed adds earthy flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar optional, balances acidity
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaf
  • 3 tablespoons Flour to thicken the sauce

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Add sweet Hungarian paprika, hot paprika, kosher salt, chopped onion, smashed garlic, chopped bell pepper, beef broth, crushed tomato, caraway seed, brown sugar (if using), and bay leaf.
  3. Stir to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  5. Before serving, remove the bay leaf.
  6. Stir in the flour to thicken the sauce.
  7. Serve with a dollop of sour cream on top.
