Bun Preparation
- Combine milk, hot water, brown sugar, and instant yeast in a large bowl; let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the high-grade flour, salt, and softened butter in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the streaky bacon until crispy and set aside.
- Whisk eggs in a bowl with salt and pepper, then scramble them in a pan until fully cooked.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into rounds. Fill each round with the cooked bacon, scrambled eggs, and a sprinkle of cheese.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges tightly.
- Brush the buns with the whisked extra egg and sprinkle with onion relish and bagel mix if desired.
