Ingredients
  

Pear Filling
  • 4 cups Bartlett pears peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Salted caramel sauce
Biscuit Topping
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Salted butter cold and cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup Buttermilk
Finishing Touch
  • 1 tablespoon Heavy cream for brushing
  • 2 tablespoons Raw sugar or cinnamon sugar for sprinkling

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  2. Peel and slice the Bartlett pears into thin wedges. In a large bowl, combine the pears with granulated sugar, light brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the pear mixture into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle generously with salted caramel sauce.
  4. Mix together the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl for the biscuit topping.
  5. Cut in the cold salted butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit mixture evenly over the pear filling.
  8. Brush the top with heavy cream and sprinkle raw sugar or cinnamon sugar.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 66 minutes.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
