  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk room temperature
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips reserve some for topping
For the Ganache
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your loaf pan.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently.
  5. Fold in 1/2 cup of the semisweet chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes and check for doneness.
  8. Make the ganache while the bread cools by heating the cream and stirring it with chocolate chips.
  9. Drizzle the ganache over the cooled chocolate bread before serving.
