  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 5 tablespoons heavy cream more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the pumpkin puree, cream, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until just combined.
  5. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into 8 wedges.
  7. Place the scones on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Whisk together ingredients for the glaze until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the warm scones and allow it to set before enjoying.
