  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
Whipped Cream
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 tablespoon Confectioners Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Bourbon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for your pie dough.
  2. Roll out the pie dough on a floured surface, and fit it snugly into your pie dish.
  3. Combine sugar, cinnamon, eggs, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, orange zest, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk slowly until completely smooth.
  5. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 55 minutes or until the center is set.
  7. Cool the pie completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate until it’s nicely chilled.
  8. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form.
  9. Fold in the confectioners sugar, vanilla bean paste, bourbon, nutmeg, and orange zest carefully until just combined.
  10. Serve the pie topped with the whipped cream and caramelized sugar if desired.
