Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 1 pound Ground beef a savory base
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped for sweet flavor
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced for depth of flavor
  • 1 cup Frozen peas and carrots for color and nutrients
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste for richness
  • 1 cup Beef broth to enhance flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce for umami
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Mashed Potatoes
  • 2 pounds Potatoes, peeled and chopped for fluffy topping
  • 1/2 cup Milk for creaminess
  • 4 tablespoons Butter for rich flavor

For the Topping
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese for melting finish
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the frozen peas and carrots, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until soft, around 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Layer the beef mixture in ramekins or a baking dish, then top with the creamy mashed potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
