For the Mashed Potatoes

For the Topping
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese melts beautifully for finishing

Method
 

How to Make
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the frozen peas and carrots, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Allow this mixture to simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until soft, around 15-20 minutes. Drain and prepare to mash.
  5. In a mixing bowl, mash the potatoes with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until creamy and smooth.
  6. Layer the beef mixture in ramekins or a baking dish, then top each with a generous scoop of creamy mashed potatoes.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
