Ingredients
  

For the Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dark soy sauce optional
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin or rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Korean syrup or honey/maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Water
For the Potatoes
  • 4 cups Potatoes any variety, chopped
For the Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds for sprinkling
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil or olive oil

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a pot, mix together the minced garlic, soy sauce, dark soy sauce (if using), mirin, sugar, Korean syrup, black pepper, and water.
  2. Toss the chopped potatoes into the pot, stirring gently to coat each piece.
  3. Bring the pot to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes, remove the lid and continue cooking for a few more minutes to thicken the sauce.
  6. Drizzle the sesame oil over the hot potatoes and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
