How to Make Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Christmas Trees
  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the puff pastry package.
  2. Gently roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into whimsical tree shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
  4. Place a slice of deli ham and a slice of cheese on each tree shape, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the fillings, creating a pocket. Place each tree on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley for the glaze.
  7. Brush the glaze generously over the pastry trees.
  8. If desired, sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top.
  9. Bake according to the puff pastry package instructions, typically for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  10. Once baked, carefully insert a wooden skewer into each tree for easy serving.
