Ingredients
  

Tofu Marinade
  • 1 block High-protein tofu Press well for best texture
  • 1 cup Vegetable broth Homemade adds extra touch
  • 2 tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos Soy sauce alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid smoke For smoky flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper Optional for extra heat
Grilling and Assembly
  • 1 tablespoon Light olive oil For greasing the pan
  • 4 slices Hearty bread Whole grain or ciabatta
  • 1/4 cup Spicy tahini sauce Adjust spice level as desired
  • 2 tablespoons Vegan butter For grilling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  2. Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Combine the vegetable broth, Bragg's Liquid Aminos, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Slice the pressed tofu into uniform thickness, about 1/2 inch.
  4. Marinate the tofu slices for at least 15 minutes, ensuring each piece is coated well.
Grilling
  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Grill the marinated tofu slices until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes per side.
  3. Spread vegan butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Assemble the sandwiches with grilled tofu and a drizzle of spicy tahini sauce between the slices with buttered sides facing out.
  5. Cook the assembled sandwiches on medium heat until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
