How to Make French Toast Roll-ups for Breakfast
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine unsalted butter, eggs, whole milk, salt, and cracked black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well blended, creating a rich custard for dipping your roll-ups.
  2. Remove the crusts and end pieces from the loaf of bread. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice to make it easier to roll.
  3. Spread crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, and sliced green onions on each flat slice. Roll them up tightly, ensuring the fillings stay inside.
  4. Carefully dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, making sure they are thoroughly coated.
  5. Warm a skillet over medium heat and melt a little salted butter.
  6. Place the roll-ups seam side down in the skillet. Cook them until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Once golden and crispy, remove the roll-ups from the skillet. Serve them warm, topped with additional salted butter if desired.
