How to Make Crispy Salt and Pepper Squid
  1. Clean the squid tubes thoroughly under cold running water, making sure they are free from any sand or debris.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients! In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and baking soda. Gradually whisk in water to create a smooth batter.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or deep pan until it reaches 350°F.
  4. Dip each cleaned squid tube into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
