  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to preference
  • 1 teaspoon pepper freshly ground preferred
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted if preferred
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk or plant-based milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
For Garnish
  • to taste fresh parsley optional

Steps
  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the skillet. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Cook the chicken breasts for about 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  4. Create a roux by melting the remaining butter in the same skillet, then whisk in the flour.
  5. Add the chicken broth gradually, whisking continuously.
  6. Stir in the milk, sour cream, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and ranch seasoning mix.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, pouring the creamy sauce over it. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.
