Ingredients

For the Batter
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour this forms the base, giving your bread a soft texture.
  • 2 large eggs they add moisture and help bind the ingredients together.
  • 3 large bananas the key to sweetness and that delightful banana flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar enhances the sweetness; you can substitute with brown sugar for a caramel flavor.
  • 1/2 cup neutral oil ensures a moist crumb; feel free to swap with melted butter for richer taste.
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts add crunch and a nutty flavor, but you can omit if you prefer a nut-free bread.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream contributes to the moistness; Greek yogurt can work as a substitute.
  • 2 tbsp instant coffee granules the secret ingredient that brings a robust coffee flavor to your banana bread.
  • 1/4 cup hot water helps dissolve the coffee granules, ensuring an even flavor throughout.
  • 1 tsp baking soda provides the lift needed for a light and airy bread.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract adds a lovely aromatic sweetness; opt for pure for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp salt enhances the other flavors, balancing sweetness beautifully.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar creates the sweet, creamy consistency for your glaze.
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee deepens the coffee flavor in the glaze; you can skip it for a plain glaze.
  • 2-4 tbsp hot water adjusts the glaze to your desired drizzling consistency.
