How to Make Cinnamon Sugar Crackle Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together 1 cup of shortening and 1-1/2 cups of sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the 2 large eggs, one at a time.
- Sift together 2-3/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture gradually.
- Mix 4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon with the remaining sugar in a small bowl.
- Roll the dough into balls, about 1-inch in diameter, and coat each in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place the coated dough balls on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Cool the cookies on a wire rack.
