How to Make Cheesy Pesto Christmas Trees
- Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry instructions, aiming for 400°F.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a clean, lightly floured surface.
- Spread the basil pesto evenly over each tree shape.
- Sprinkle the grated mozzarella or tasty cheese generously on top of the pesto.
- Place the pastry trees on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the edges of each tree with the beaten egg using a pastry brush.
- Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top, if desired.
- Insert small skewers or pretzel sticks into the bottom of each tree.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until golden and puffed.
