How to Make Cheese and Prosciutto Croissants
- Thaw the frozen puff pastry overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry instructions, typically around 400°F.
- Roll out each sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, then cut them into triangles.
- Spread thinly sliced butter over each triangle.
- Whisk together heavy cream or whole milk, eggs, Dijon mustard, and fresh thyme leaves in a bowl until well combined.
- Layer shredded Gruyère and Gouda cheese, along with slices of prosciutto, onto each pastry triangle.
- Roll each triangle up starting from the wide end towards the point. Place them seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with the cream mixture you prepared earlier, and sprinkle lightly with coarse sugar.
- Bake according to the puff pastry instructions, usually around 30 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.

Notes
Serve with a side of fruit jam for a sweet contrast to the savory flavors.
