Apple Filling
  • 4 cups Gala apples sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Buns
  • 1 package Cheater's croissant dough ready-made
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the croissant dough package.
  2. Mix the sliced Gala apples, apple cider, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Roll out the Cheater's croissant dough on a floured surface.
  4. Cut the dough into squares and place a generous spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square.
  5. Fold the edges of the dough squares over the filling to seal them.
  6. Place the filled buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  8. Sprinkle the tops generously with granulated sugar.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for the time specified on the croissant dough package or until golden brown.
