  1. Begin by slicing the beef flank steak against the grain into ¼ inch thick slices.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef with salt and baking soda. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  3. Coat each piece of marinated beef generously in cornstarch.
  4. Pour vegetable oil into a pan and heat it over high heat.
  5. Carefully add the coated beef to the hot oil and fry until crispy and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fried beef and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
